May 4, 2023: A recent report said that Federal lawyers are getting close to concluding whether to criminally charge Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, following a yearslong investigation.
Prosecutors are well known to prefer whether to charge Biden with tax crimes and another charge related to an allegedly fake statement he made when buying a gun in 2018.
In the previous week, Biden’s lawyers met in Washington, D.C., with the lawyers at the Department of Justice regarding the probe, a step routinely taken before authorities move charging people.
Among those lawyers was David Weiss, the U.S. attorney for Delaware, leading the investigation, and who will decide if to charge Hunter, The Washington Post report stated, adding it could happen soon.
Former President Donald Trump appointed Weiss, and he was permitted to stay in the job to complete the search after President Biden took office.
Attorney General Merrick Garland told reporters that Weiss “is in charge of this case and allegedly of making any conclusions that he feels are appropriate.”
Hunter Biden emerged in an Arkansas state court for a hearing connected to his child-support payments for a kid he had out of wedlock. Hunter is challenged to reduce the $20,000 monthly support he has been giving money to the girl’s mother.
During that court discussion, Independence County Circuit Court Judge Holly Meyer told him to sit for a deposition and give in writing details about his finances to Roberts’ lawyers.
Roberts had asked Hunter to be prisoned for contempt of court for last stonewalling demands for fiscal information.
