NBCUniversal international promotion chief Linda Yaccarino has left to enter Twitter as its chief administrator

May 15, 2023: NBCUniversal international promotion chief Linda Yaccarino has left to join Twitter as its chief administrator.

Twitter’s CEO Elon Musk stated the hire in a tweet Friday.

“I am happy to invite Linda Yaccarino as the recent CEO of Twitter!” Musk tweeted. He stated she “will focus primarily on business operations, while I concentrate on product design & the recent technology.”

He stated, “Looking forward works with Linda to change this platform into X, the everything app.”

The statement comes a day following Musk said via Twitter that he would decrease the role and that there would be a recent CEO of the social media website, although he did not name the recent person. Musk stated in his tweet the person would begin in about six weeks.

Yaccarino joined NBCUniversal and had risen to the top of the company’s international advertising firms.

The ad chief was slated to participate in NBCUniversal’s Upfront occasions at Radio City in New York, presenting the sales the company and its media peers make to the advertising industry in May.

The ad executive brings a wealth of connections with top chief trade officers and different advertising executives to Twitter at a time when the platform has witnessed advertisers flee, therefore losing billions of dollars following Musk’s takeover last year.

Musk finished his $44 billion acquisition of Twitter in October of last year. Soon after, he fired the firm’s top brass and laid off thousands of employees.

Many firms halted spending on the platform since Twitter has seen a surge in offensive speech and rhetoric, as many advocacy groups have documented. To make up for the failure of ad revenue, Musk created the recent subscription service, Twitter Blue, which offers features like the ability to compose longer tweets.

Yaccarino and Musk sat in an April keynote interview at a marketing conference in Florida. During the conversation, the two discussed marketers’ role in Twitter’s future and its position in cultural exchange.

At the conference, Musk tried to reassure advertisers that Twitter was a nice place for their labels.

Yaccarino’s exit from NBCUniversal comes weeks following Jeff Shell was ousted as the company’s CEO following admitting to an inappropriate relationship with the workers, rather than replacing Shell, NBCUniversal’s top executives reporting to Mike Cavanagh, president of parent firm Comcast.

Mark Marshall, the present president of advertising sales and client partnerships, regarding the interim chairman of the firm’s advertising and partnerships group.
