LILYSILK and TerraCycle Forge Enduring Partnership
LILYSILK, a leading purveyor of luxurious silk products, and TerraCycle, a pioneer in innovative recycling solutions, celebrate a milestone two-year partnership empowering sustainable consumption within the fashion industry.
This collaboration, initiated in 2022, has yielded remarkable results. Through the “LILYSILK Free Recycling Program,” customers have been empowered to dispose of pre-loved LILYSILK items responsibly, including sleepwear, loungewear, and accessories. Over 1,493 items, totaling an impressive 878.3 pounds, have been diverted from landfills and repurposed into valuable raw materials.
These discarded silk products find new life as sustainable goods, such as mattress and pet bedding fillers and sports equipment components. This reduces waste and minimizes the environmental impact of silk production, a resource-intensive process.
“Our partnership with TerraCycle has been a cornerstone of our commitment to environmental responsibility,” expressed David Wang, CEO of LILYSILK. “We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved together in the past two years and remain dedicated to further expanding our sustainability efforts.”
Tom Szaky, CEO and Founder of TerraCycle echoed this sentiment, stating, “Over the past two years, the LILYSILK Free Recycling Program has provided eco-conscious individuals with a convenient and responsible solution for end-of-life items. Together with LILYSILK, we look forward to empowering even more consumers to minimize their environmental footprint in the new year.”
The success of this partnership extends beyond impressive recycling figures. It serves as a beacon of hope within the fashion industry, demonstrating the viability and importance of sustainable practices. By making responsible disposal readily available, LILYSILK and TerraCycle are encouraging consumers to make conscious choices and prioritize environmental well-being alongside sartorial elegance.
As the two entities move forward, their commitment to a sustainable future remains unwavering. With ongoing initiatives and a shared vision, LILYSILK and TerraCycle are poised to revolutionize the silk industry further, paving the way for a more responsible and eco-friendly fashion landscape.
