Don’t let the pressure break you; there’s always a way to cope

All business leaders feel pressure on their shoulders throughout their careers. Whether it’s due to their expectations, the expectations of their colleagues, or frankly the expectations of the business community at large, they still feel it! It makes sense why. Top leaders in companies are usually highly ambitious and passionate people who want to make the world a better place. As a result, they and others tend to have high expectations of them to make a difference in the world. This begs the question: How can top executives keep their cool under pressure?

You don’t have to know all the answers:

No one knows all the answers. Even the leaders of the most successful businesses like Amazon’s Jeff Bezos and SpaceX’s Elon Musk and Tesla Motors don’t know everything about business success. And not only do they not have all the answers, but they also welcome not having all the answers! Believe it or not, there is serious power in not having all the answers. Because knowing that you don’t know everything opens your mind to new insights. And the more knowledge you have, the better your chances of success. On the other hand, people who think they already know everything about business and success are closed to new things. As a result, we miss valuable opportunities to gather new information and use it to our advantage. It can feel like a lot of pressure at first, but not having all the answers will eventually take the pressure off your shoulders. The moment you step back and realize that not having all the answers is a strength, the pressure starts to fade.

Stop talking and start listening:

When we feel pressure from any situation, our body internalizes that pressure as a threat and instinctively begins to fight back. It may seem absurd, but one of the body’s most common defences is to talk instead of listening. Because when you speak, it prevents others from coming out and attacking you. I feel it! To counter pressure and human instincts at the same time, managers battle their inner instincts by listening. These inner instincts are difficult to hunt down, but choosing to simply listen rather than speak will feel a great deal of pressure lifted off your shoulders.

They Don’t Take On the Business Journey Alone:

The whole solo entrepreneur game only gets you so far. If you want to be a great leader, you need a strong team to back you up. Simply put, team members are there to support each other. When things get tough, having great people to turn to makes it much easier to keep going. Remember that pressure is just energy. And since it can be transformed, it can be divided into different people so that even one person can use it easily. The best CEOs stay calm under pressure with the help of great teams!
